The Iraqi Parliament will soon vote on a US-backed law that could hand too much oil revenue and control to foreign corporations.
A Sunni, Shia and Kurd Parliamentarian are planning to stand together and present this petition to the Iraqi Parliament. They want us to help them show that the world supports Iraq’s right to its own oil and its own future.

On Saturday, I met up with Rachel and the peeps from JETAANY.org at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for the Cherry Blossom Festival (Sakura Matsuri 桜ç¥ã‚Š). The custom of hanami (花見) or “flower viewing” in Japan is a time for celebrating spring and having picnics with friends, families and colleagues under the blossoming cherry trees.
Today was a beautiful spring day in NYC – with warm sunny weather and flowers in bloom. I spent the whole day outside, just walking around Lower Manhattan along the water, from Battery Park City to South Street Seaport. See all my pictures on my Flickr account.
