I had brunch today at Cafe Colonial in Nolita. I ordered the “Traditional Brazilian Breakfast,” which a bowl of fresh tropical fruit and a basket of warm pão de queijo. Yum!
Afterwards, I walked over to the newly opened Whole Foods on Bowery and Houston, to gawk at and sample the food porn. They have a walk-in, temperature and humidity-controlled room just for cheese! Truly a temple of “bourgilicious” consumption. Soon, Whole Foods will be the next Starbucks, and the backlash will begin, if it hasn’t already…
