Caio’s site nominated for Catalan design contest

My friend Caio in Barcelona has been nominated for a Catalan design contest for his web design work.  From his email:

Drambuie Den

Fast forward 260 years and the spirit of the Prince lives on at the Drambuie Den in New York – a modern interpretation of a classic, where you can enjoy expertly mixed cocktails, delicious hors d’oeuvres and complimentary grooming treatments courtesy of Truman’s Gentleman’s Groomers.

The party was staffed by a foxy bunch of “brand ambassadors” (cocktail waitresses) who served up hors d’oeuvres and really cloyingly sweet Drambuie cocktails. But I am not complaining, I am not the type to turn down free drinks! The Drambuie drinks could have been better with the simple extra step of muddling the limes they used in them a bit before serving.

I tried 3 kinds of hors d’oeuvres: chicken skewers, mini onion tarts, and baby brioche burgers. The chicken skewers were unremarkable, reminding me of why I don’t like chicken, unless it’s a whole roasted free-range bird. The mini tarts were fantastic, and the baby brioche burgers were sublime – kind of like the bourgie version of White Castle. Apparently, all of the food contained Drambuie too, but it’s not like I could tell, since I was washing it all down with Drambuie cocktails.

On my way out, we picked up gift bags which contained a Drambuie logo cigar cutter and a small bamboo cutting board. Totally random!
